MagBio Genomics and DNA Software Announce Strategic Partnership to Advance Integrated Sample-to-qPCR Workflows
MagBio Genomics and DNA Software are partnering to combine advanced sample-preparation chemistry with assay-design intelligence, creating a more streamlined path from biological sample to reliable qPCR results.
Today, many molecular testing workflows rely on independently sourced components—sample stabilization and extraction from one provider, primers and probes from another, and extensive optimization performed in the laboratory. This fragmented approach can increase complexity and variability while extending assay development timelines.
By combining MagBio Genomics’ MagCTL™ sample stabilization reagent and Pathogen Nucleic acids extraction chemistries with DNA Software’s expertise in primer and probe design, multiplex assay development, and in-silico optimization, the companies aim to develop integrated sample-to-qPCR workflows engineered holistically from the outset.
Dr. HK Ntchobo, CEO of MagBio Genomics, commented:
| “Our customers don’t think in terms of separate products; they think in terms of outcomes. By aligning sample stabilization, extraction chemistry, and assay design from the beginning, we can dramatically reduce the barrier between a biological sample and a reliable molecular result.” |
Dr. John SantaLucia, CEO of DNA Software, added:
| “This is a natural alliance that combines MagBio’s expertise in sample preparation and extraction with DNA Software’s 25 years of experience in PCR assay design and optimization. Through our PCRassays.com division, we also bring an extensive portfolio of human pathogen assays that can now be paired with MagBio technologies for challenging sample types, including blood, wastewater, and other complex matrices. Together we are in a unique position to rapidly develop customized sample-to-answer workflows for new applications and markets.” |
Partnership Focus
- Reducing the need for manual assay optimization
- Improving consistency across the molecular testing workflow
- Accelerating the path from sample to reliable molecular results
- Enabling more predictable assay performance across challenging sample types
Initial areas of focus include pathogen surveillance, public health and outbreak monitoring, wastewater testing, veterinary diagnostics, food and water safety, and agricultural pathogen detection.
The companies’ first pilot program will focus on biothreat monitoring, pairing MagBio Genomics’ sample preparation and extraction technologies with DNA Software’s broad-spectrum biothreat PCR panel.
The broader vision of the partnership is to move beyond independently optimized components toward integrated molecular workflows in which sample stabilization, nucleic acid extraction, and PCR assay performance are designed to work together. By addressing the entire workflow, from sample collection through molecular detection, MagBio Genomics and DNA Software aim to deliver faster development, greater reproducibility, and more reliable molecular testing across a wide range of applications.
